APG Wednesday Workshop – Mobile Phone

A rather chilly Wednesday evening did not deter 17 of our members from putting in an appearance.

This was the first workshop of 2023 and from the positive numbers, which also included four new members, looks like Wednesday evenings are going to be quite busy moving forwards.

The workshop was led by our President, Daryl Gabin who first made the newcomers welcome and respective introductions were made to other members of the group.
The workshop’s main topic was how to use your Mobile/Smartphone camera to the best of its capabilities to obtain the best results. This is based on the fact that this month’s Exhibition is themed “Mobile/Smartphone Photography” and all images exhibited for this exhibition will be taken with mobile or Smartphone cameras.
Everyone observed a very informative video displayed on the projector that went over some of the key points of setting up your phone’s camera and then best practices when using it.
We then dived into the practical element of taking that information and putting it into practice on our devices.

Some of us were surprised that some of the options and settings found on the cameras in our phones that we had no idea were there or could be used, so hopefully, folks will be exploring those features and using them in the future.

Daryl then went over a few other topics mainly in relation to printing images and the subsequent framing of these images in preparation for Exhibition night for the new members that have not done this before.

Don’t forget Exhibition Titles must be in by 22nd January (extended deadline). Exhibition night will be on Friday 27th of January at 19:00 at the Museum and we look forward to welcoming you.
